Renters United Maryland
Established in 2017, we are a coalition of independent non-profit, legal services, and community-based organizations.
Our coalition stands on these principles:
- Housing is a human right.
- Housing is critical to an individual’s quality of life, the health of families, and the prosperity of communities.
- We are accountable to Maryland renters by using an intersectional analysis of equity and building inclusive and equitable participation by impacted populations.
Our Vision and Mission
Our vision is a Maryland in which renters live in safe and affordable housing and have security of tenure.
Our coalition uses sustained, intentional collaboration among renters, lawyers, organizers, policymakers, academics, and others from across Maryland to set forth near- and long-term state legislative priorities that will advance the rights of tenants to safe, affordable, sustainable housing.
