On February 11, 2025, Renters United Maryland and the Maryland Eviction Prevention Funds Alliance sent a letter to Governor Wes Moore, Senate President Bill Ferguson, and House Speaker Adrienne Jones urging them to reverse a proposed 50% cut to eviction prevention funds in the FY 26 state budget and restore $10 million in total funding. Eviction prevention funding keeps Marylanders housed, keeps families healthy, helps right past racial housing discrimination, keeps families financially stable, and makes our communities safer and stronger.
